G4479.)BOXED SET OF SIX EVA BRAUN SILVER HORS D'OEUVRE FORKS: we acquired this set from the widow of a deceased California collector who we have been very familiar with. He's had this set for years and I have really researched on-line for as much information on Eva Braun's patterns as I could find. You'll agree that this indeed is her stylized 'EB' monogram, that characteristic 'butterfly' pattern with the extended tail on the letter 'B'. The engraving itself is flawless and has been present for years, no evidence that it's new given that the recesses are tarnished and not bright. Set of six 6" long silver plated forks each with the 'EB' monogram at the base of the handle. Marked on the underside with maker 'WMF' (Wurttembergische Metallwarrenfabrik) and '90' for silver plated. Forks are mounted inside 4x7" brown carton with silk lined pedestal inside. Top of carton is gold printed with silversmith 'G.Eberhardt, Wiesbaden'. Case is intact and shows light wear and age from the years. Ask for more up-close and detailed photos should you be interested in acquiring this set. Please do your due diligence before buying these so that you're content with your buying decision. Yes, post the photos on the internet forums and get their 'expert' opinions. Here's a hint: there are dozens of so-called 'experts' out there in this field but few if any true aficionados who really do know. So make your own informed buying decision.
