G4498.)TWO (2) IMPERIAL PRUSSIAN WWI AVIATION ID BOOKS: aviation-related World War One pilot's ID books are hyper-rare and super-desirable. I cannot recall seeing such aviation paperwork in years and the last time that I did I recall a very heft price tag. This grouping includes both this pilot's Militarpass and Erweiterung (addendum to the Militarpass). Named to Prussian pilot NCO  'Unteroffiziere Bruno Walzel'. Militarpass is copiously filled out and dated on front '1915', the year that he began his aviation training as an aerial observer (aufklarung page 2). Nine pages of entries, ink stamps and notations/signatures. Page 1 shows that he enlisted in 1915 as a volunteer, 18-years old, and was assigned to Aviation Replacement Detachment, 1st Recruit Company (Flieger Ersatz Abteilung I/1.Rekruten Kompanie'. Shows his rank in 1918 as having progressed to that of Unteroffiziere, lists too his assignments (including combat flying on the Eastern Front) from 1915 up until war's end 1918. Note the imperial eagle ink stamp on page 10 'ARMEE FLUGPARK DEUTSCHE SUDARMEE' (Army Aviation Flying Field, German Southern Army) along with his pilot training achievements -- in 1916 as being 'Gut'. After flying combat missions on the Eastern Front as an observer ('over the trenches' as the German translation goes) he attended pilot school and graduated. He then flew combat missions as a pilot 1917-1918. Note on pages 12-13 (the insert) details his pilot training at Grudenz, Poland and that he tested and passed March/April of 1917. The covers on this book are present but have separated from the binding, can be repaired. Pair of books includes his 'Militar=Erweiterung' (Military Wehrpass Supplement). Eastern Front combat missions are detailed here (pages 2 and 3) along with his military decorations: (insert with red ink stamp 'Fliegerhorst Halle' (Army Airfield at Halle)....1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class, 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class, Pilot's Badge. He mustered out on '25.11.1918' right at war's end. Note too the comment on page 13 'Flugfuhrer Fuhrung Gut! (Aviation Pilot Proficiency Good!). EXC++++
