G5000.)WWII GERMAN ARMY OFFICER'S MAP CASE WITH ALL OF ITS CONTENTS: just a totally superb offering being an officer's map case in a superb state of preservation, complete with most of its contents. 8x10" smooth brown leather, soft and supple. With two leather loops on the back for fixing to service belt, at front is metal stud reinforced leather tab. Seven original period pencils inside leather loops. Note too the metal rule that is hinged and unfolds. Inside case is 6x8" olive green canvas case with snap button closures. Inside is a 102-page German army instruction manual on map-reading title 'Kartenlesen' (Map Reading). Also yellow plastic German army issue map overlay printed with grid pattern for coordinates. Printed with this instrument's title 'Zielgevierttafel' (for artillery spotting 'Target Area Tables'). Included too is a 6x8" note pad for messages and three equilibrated templates for plotting. Printed with the title for these instruments 'Planzeiger; fur Wehr und Gelanddedienst' ('Plan Poiters for Ground Forces'...in other words, not for naval or maritime use). Clear plastic case with leather trim plus two German army issue maps ('Deutsche Heereskarte'=German Army Map). Dated '1944' and is map of the Krakau area in Poland. Other map is printed with 'Russland' (Russia). Both maps are large format and are neatly folded. Inside of flap on case is unit ink stamped 'R.R.15' (Reiter-Regiment 15 or the 15th Cavalry Regiment).
