G133.)3rd RCH GERMAN ARMY INFANTRY OFFICER'S VISOR CAP: fantastic but salty original that was 'there'. Shows a great 'crusher' profile and shape. Tailored of a quality field gray melton cloth wool and piped around the crown and above/below dark green badge cloth wool cap band. Both cap eagle and wreath are surely original to this cap...eagle is stamped aluminum, typical, and cockade is stamped wartime zinc, now gray from toning. Separately applied national colors rosette in center, red wool 'dot'. Smooth black patent leather visor with checkered, brown underside. Visor shows some slight mis-shaping from use and from heat perhaps. Not at all detracting. Stitching is strong and intact to cap's body, one minor crack to visor near the cap, not the edge. Interior is lined with grass green satin-like fabric and intact, clear moisture shield that's stiff and brittle as it should be. Wartime ersatz leather sweatband -- brown oilcloth -- shows a lot of wear and age from use and from the years. Two splits to sweat band from being pulled down to look underneath....if you follow me but stitching to visor cap body is strong and intact. Silver bullion officer's chin cord is fastened at sides with silver, pebble-finished officer buttons. Cap is aged and worn, great salty look. No mothing. EXC
