G141.)CASED 1939 IRON CROSS 1st CLASS: a fine Freidrich Orth-made specimen with smooth black enamel finished center. Three-piece construction and magnetic. Swastika is crisp and in high relief, angular details and not washed out. Nor is the '1939' date which is sharply detailed too. Mirror-like silver frame showing mild toning. Light wear to the black finish on the swastika. High quality EKI type hinge and tapered nickel-silver pin that's incused with maker's code '15'. Entire back of cross is toned with a pleasing patina. Comes in 2 3/4" square black leatherette case with silver embossed EKI motif on lid. Spring button catch at front is present but doesn't completely funciton. Case closes fine though. Inside is lined with ivory shade flocced material and is slotted to hold pin/hinge assembly. Upper interior is lined with padded white satin. EXC++++
