G169.)CASED 1914 IRON CROSS 1st CLASS. SCREW-BACK: a deluxe screw-back design in an elaborate case, fabulous. Case is more akin to the cases found for the '14EKII but clearly made for this screw-back piece as the interior is recessed to hold the circular locking disc. Vaulted in construction, matte, black-finished magnetic center. Silver frosted frame with crisply detailed beaded edge. Nice. Features are crisp too and in high relief. Reverse of cross is silver frosted and has 38mm wide silver frosted disc and elaborate locking nut for threaded screw-post with winged finger grips on each side. Comes in 4" square red leatherette case with EK design on lid, functioning decorative clasp at front. Plush dark blue velvet insert with 40mm wide recessed circle to accommodate the screw-back disc. Upper interior of case is lined with dark blue, padded silk and has a length of 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class placed diagonally. Case is intact and shows mild age and wear. EXC++++
