Stunning gold finished pendent -- looks like genuine precious metal -- with separately applied glass enameled red cross shield in center. Wreathed border is detailed with dark green enameling. With Austrian Red Cross motto at base being latin 'Patriae ac. Humanitati' (For Country and Humanity). With the year that the Austrian Red Cross was founded '1864' and then World War One year '1914'. Clean ribbon is tied in a bow configuration for female recipient. Interior of case is lined with plush ivory shade velvet and is recessed to hold pendent, recessed area above to accommodate bow tie ribbon. Note too the letters 'K.D.' on the cover for Kriegsdienste (War Service). EXC++++
