G4975.)IMPERIAL PRUSSIAN KAISERMARINE SAILOR'S MILITARY PASS AND COVER: an outstanding offering being a rather scarce imperial military pass and its elaborate cover. ID book is copiously filled out with nine pages of entries, ink stamps, notations and signatures. On cover is Prussian eagle and 'MD' for Marinedienste (Naval Service). Below is 'Kaiserliche Marine' (Royal Navy) and 'Militarpass'. With this sailor's unit ink stamped on front '4.Kompanie II. Matrosendivision' (Sailor's Division). Dated at the time of his entry into the German navy '1908'. Named to naval reservist 'Karl Ferdninand Kost'. From 1908-1910 he served aboard the two massive German dreadnoughts, the SMS Braunschweig and the SMS Westfalen. Note the entries on page 4. Note on page 11 the detailed entry showing that he served in 'Amerika' in 'Juli 1914' at the German consulate. Separate document included with Prussian 'Kaiserlich Deutsches Konsulate Seattle' (Royal German Consulate) showing his recall back to Germany '25 Januar 1915'. According to entry on page 13 he was back in Germany serving with the 'Koenigl. Preussisches Bezirkskommando Hersfeld' (Royal Prussian District Command). Dark blue cardboard sleeve -- intact and near perfect -- with embossed golden Prussian eagle on front and 'Kaiserliche Marine, Militarpass'. EXC++++
