RD216.)CASED 1939 SPANGE 1st and 2nd CLASS PRESENTATION SET: nice example of the '39 Spange 1st with silver frosted finish. Has high quality hinge and tapered silver pin. 2nd Class piece has toned to a gray tarnish and is marked with maker's code on back 'L/11'. Deluxe presentation case is hinged and with functioning spring button at front. Interior of case has plush black velvet lining and is recessed to perfectly hold both 1st and 2nd Class examples and with recessed channel at top that's holding 5" length of '14 EKII ribbon. Upper interior of case is padded with white satin and has eagle motif on cover. Case is intact and shows mild age and wear. Case doesn't glow under a black light. EXC++++

When testing for the presence of optical brighteners be sure to use a piece of white copy paper as a control. The white paper will glow like the lights of Hong Kong while the fabric will reflect a light purple cast. Big difference between the two; don't confuse them.
