Shows a fine nautical profile and shape, high peak. Radiates age and is hyper-dangerous. At front is hand embroidered bullion wire political type eagle on cut-to-shape navy blue wool underlay; meticulously hand applied. Bullion details are convincingly toned with years of patina. Hand embroidered bullion wire cockade appears to be very much genuine period...has ancient india ink inscription on the back along with typical thin paper lining. Bullion on this wreath is darkly toned too. Black mohair wool cap band. Silver bullion wire officer's cord which is similarly toned with tarnish. Smooth black patent leather visor shows age crazing to surface, green underside. Interior of cap has black brushed cotton fabric and genuine brown leather sweat band which is soft and supple. Leather is soiled and aged from use. As I mentioned earlier, this is an original period cap. No mothing. EXC++++
