RD222.)CASED JULY 20th, 1944 WOUND BADGE IN GOLD: a totally spectacular vintage counterfeit, a true gem. Constructed of a quality gold alloy (appears to be genuine precious metal). Oh, so perfectly detailed with lighter shade background inside the pebbled field. This gem quality badge is heavy and thick as it should be (3.5mm thick at the center). As fine as any original and one made to screw you. Reverse has high quality golden alloy hinge and tapered pin. Quality 'C' hook catch too. Back of badge is marked with the proper maker's code '2' and precious metals content '800'. Comes in 2 3/4 x 3" case, super high quality, hinged and with functioning spring button at front. Interior of case is lined with plush black velvet and is slotted to hold hinge/pin assembly. Upper interior of case is lined with padded white satin. Just totally outstanding in every respect, real museum copy quality. EXC+++++
Nothing on this case glows under a black light. When testing for the presence of optical brighteners be sure to use a piece of white copy paper as a control. The white paper will glow like the lights of Hong Kong while the fabric will reflect a light purple cast. Big difference between the two; don't confuse them.
