She was awarded the Order of the British Empire for her wartime service. 48mm wide silver pendent with profile bust views of both King George V and King George VI along with inscription 'FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE'. Clean ribbon tied in bow configuration and with pin-back device. On the back of the ribbon is hand embroidered name tag 'M.Whittaker'. Clasp is marked 'STERLING'. Comes in high quality black leatherette case, 5x6" dimensions, hinged and with gold embossed 'M.B.E.' (Member of the Order of the British Empire). Interior of case is lined with plush ivory shade velvet and with padded satin upper that has printed 'ROYAL MINT' crest. Included too is her 'BRITISH RED CROSS SOCIETY' enameled membership badge which is a large size piece. Has frosted gold finish and impeccably executed glass enameling. At base is scroll 'FOR SERVICE'. Reverse has horizontal swing pin and has a frosted gold application. Marked on the back with premiere English maker 'J.R.Gaunt, London' and is die-struck with serial number to individual recipient '11442'. This badge is taller than a US silver dollar. Also included is here British Red Cross Society service medal with dated clasps on the ribbon for '1917' and '1918'. This medal is 4" tall and has perfect glass enameling. At top is enameled pin-clasp 'Proficiency in Red Cross First-Aid'. Back of pendent is machine engraved with her full name 'Minnie Whittaker' and serial numbered to her too '9173'. The pin-back clasp on this medal too is 'J.R.Gaunt, London' maker marked. Lovely groping. EXC++++
