US471.)WORLD WAR TWO U.S.ARMY FIGHTING KNIFE: Henri Paul-Enjames identifies this fabulous vintage knife as being 'Knife, Commando, Cattaraugus 225Q'. 11" long overall with clean natural steel blade in a great state of preservation, mildly extra sharpening to the edge which is original period. Blade is lightly grayed, no rust nor any oxidation browning. Marked on the ricasso in script to the maker 'Cattaraugus 225Q'. Steel cross-guard and stacked brown leather washer grip. Steel pommel with rectangular tang and checkered pattern to surface. Has its original brown leather scabbard, soft and supple with all stitching intact and strong. Rivets intact too. Has leather strap for grip with snap button. EXC++++
