RD297.)NSFK PILOT'S BADGE, 1937 TYPE FOR POWERED AIRCRAFT: the distinction being that this badge is not for glider pilots but rather those who piloted combustion engine airplanes. This gem is identical to the specimens illustrated and described in Forman's work, this being a gray zinc metal alloy (as it should be) with assault badge type hinge on the back (also correct). Well detailed and crisp. Reverse has long, pointed pin and 'C' hook catch mounted to circular pedestal. This one too just came out of an old collection. Marked on the back with maker's code 'L/58'. Fabulous old counterfeit. EXC+++++
Niemann suggests that this NSFK's market value is around $1,200.
