Two VN War medals, one being the US Vietnam War Campaign Medal with single large gold battle star -- the USN/USMC type -- for a total of five (5) battles and campaigns. Also has arrowhead device for amphibious landing. Note that in 1965 there were a number of armored amphibious landings along the SVN coastline...Operation Starlite 18 Aug. '65 and the Dagger Thrust Operations in 1965, all USMC SLF landings (Special Landing Forces). Companion piece is the Republic of South Vietnam Gallantry Cross with silver star device on ribbon (for citation at the division level). Cross of Gallantry is the SVN type with typical French double-prong mounting on the back. EXC++++
