OC4910.)CASED WWII JAPANESE ORDER OF THE RISING SUN: I believe that this gem specimen is the 5th Class type but don't hold that against me if I am off by one class. Breath-takingly beautiful glass enamel workmanship on silver base. Enameled suspension clasp that's hinged and is flexible. Clean ribbon with typical Japanese hook and eyelet clasp on the back. Comes in black lacquered wooden case with genuine silver hinge, silver Japanese characters on the lid and with decorative silver clasp at front. Interior of case is lined with plush purple velvet and is recessed to hold pendent and ribbon separately. Note the Japanese kanji inside case, the calligraphic style of writing that was replaced post-war.
