All were bought -- including this one -- as original. Really a spectacular old counterfeit. 38x50mm dimensions with separately applied frosted gold national eagle motif on red enameled field. Note too the frosted gold acanthus wreath border, white enamel field behind black enamel swastika. Reverse has high quality gold finished hinge and tapered pin. Quality 'C' hook catch that's mounted to circular pedestal. Pin is marked with maker's code 'L/58'. Aged and very convincingly worn dark blue leatherette case, hinged and 3x3 1/2" dimensions. Functioning spring button catch at front. Interior is lined with plush black velvet and is perfectly slotted to hold hinge/pin assembly. Upper interior is lined with padded white satin.
