RD4602.)IMPERIAL RUSSIAN GARDE du CORPS NCO'S DRESS HELMET: remarkably fine vintage piece of workmanship as fine as any original. In fact, I researched this helmet on-line and examined a number of original ones....which makes me wonder if any of those offered on-line as original are indeed fakes? This gem radiates genuine age, it's toned and has a remarkably fine patina. Smooth brass body with silver alloy trim. Huge silver double eagle motif at top, mounted to silver plate. This silver eagle (appears to be genuine silver) is hollow as it should be. Silver Garde du Corps starburst at front -- gilded lettering. Brass chin scales with brown leather backing. Lobster tail rear visor with silver rivets. Note the national colors rosette on wearer's left side, brass rosette on the opposite as is correct with these. Underside of both visors lined with crimson velvet, mild age and wear. Has skull cap type liner inside of gray silk, genuine leather sweat band. Interior shows light age and wear and is in a perfect state of preservation. Design on eagle's chest at front is Russian motif Saint George slaying the dragon. EXC++++

This gem is as fine as any original. Note that a real one sold recently for $8k!
