Not sure just what features about this wing betray it as an old fake....if you happen to know for sure, please let us know. 3" wide genuine silver and attractively toned with years of patina. Has profile of an American Indian in the center with headdress and 'CAA WAR TRAINING SERVICE'. This was the pre-Civil Air Patrol organization that trained civilian pilots in a wartime university and college program. Reverse is frosted and toned and has horizontal swing pin with roller catch. Marked 'Sterling' on the lower reverse. EXC++++
