Separately applied glass enameled Spanish royal house device in center showing castles and rampant lions. Inscription on blue glass enamel background is 'AL MERITO EN CAMPANA' (For Military Merit in the Field). On super-quality nickel-silver elaborate base. Reverse has quality nickel-silver hinge and flat pin that curves up at tip. With five quality rivets on the back. Reverse of cross is darkly toned with years of patina.
