US119.)WWII USN AIRCRAFT INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPASS: a buddy of mine has assured me that this instrument is indeed WWII period although the '1947' date ink stamped on the frame was from an inspection and equilibration trial. Such instruments were removed and tested quite often and then stamped with the trial approval date. Large black-finished aluminum frame with now yellowed luminescent dial. Has metal label on the side showing this instrument's designation 'MARK X" and 'AIRCRAFT COMPASS, BU AERO U.S.NAVY, SQUARE D COMPANY'. EXC++
