G155.)SA DAGGER, GROUND ROHM: a rather fine example all around, un-fooled with and completely original. Shows the typical age-related wear and light abuse so common with nearly all SA daggers. Clean blade with nickel finish intact on the motto side. Shows mild blemishing to nickel plating, bold and deep 'Alles fur Deutschland' motto. Note that the tip of blade is ever-so-slightly blunted, not at all detracting. Reverse side has evidence of the Ernst Rohm dedication having been completely defaced and removed. All but the characteristic horizontal slash mark over the Rohm name has been ground off. If you examine the buffed area under a strong magnifying glass you'll discern other faint evidence of the original inscription. Grinding marks and buffing are evident quite prominently. The Carl Eickhorn squirrel logo is intact as shown. Blade is original to this dagger....it fits in so snugly, no gaps. Same with the dark fruitwood grip which is similarly intact, no chips nor any cracks. And the cross-guard to grip fit is perfect, no gaps or opening here either. Early nickel-silver cross-guards with the reverse lower guard being die-struck with SA group designation 'Ns' for SA-Gruppe Niedersachsen. Grip is beautiful and has perfectly inset nickel-silver national eagle device, perfect enameled SA button above. Perfect pommel nut too, no burrs or gouges. Brown anodized steel scabbard. Shows typical wear and age for one of these. Nickel-silver finished throat and scabbard drag.  All screws present on scabbard fittings surely appear to be the original ones too. Scabbard ball is dented at base. Wonderful original Ground Rohm SA dagger. EXC++++
