G174.)CASED 1914 IRON CROSS 2nd CLASS: lovely example of the '14 EKII, exquisite and it's '800' silver marked on the ring. Oh, such fine features to this cross and the silver frame is nearly black with tarnish. The obverse is as stunning as the reverse. Comes in 3x5" gray leatherette case, hinged and with functioning spring button catch at front. Interior of case is lined with plush gray velvet and is recessed to accommodate cross. Upper part of interior has slotted area to hold 5" length of '14 EKII ribbon. Upper interior of case is padded with gray silk with inscription 'Zur Erinnung an Deutschlands gross Zeit' (In Memory of Germany's Greatest Era). Case shows wear and age. Oh, it's intact, not damaged but shows soiling on the inside lining, age and wear on the outside. EXC+++
