Feathers and fletching are crisply detailed, cut-out area between eagle's talons. Reverse has high quality barrel hinge and long pointed pin. Two rivets on the back. Reverse of eagle is marked with maker's logo being stylized letter 'A' for the Assmann firm. Jeweler engraved on the reverse wreath with 'KAN.W.BEST' and 'L.A.K. 1942'. Comes in 3 x 3 1/2" dark blue leatherette case, hinged, and with functioning spring button catch at front. Gold printed title on lid 'Luftwaffen Flugzeugfuhrer=u.Beobachter=Abzeichen'. Interior of case is lined with plush dark blue velvet and is slotted to hold hinge/pin assembly. Upper interior is lined with padded blue satin. EXC++++
