G255.)CASED 1936 SPANISH WOUND BADGE IN SILVER: a lovely specimen all around, just breath-taking. Constructed of a quality silver alloy and finished with a silver frosting now toned with years of patina. Frosting remains in the recesses of the pebbled field. Oh, so handsomely detailed, crisp and impressive. Sharp, angular swastika in high relief. Badge has flat, silver finished reverse but is a hollow construction....much like earlier, imperial era aviation badges. With high quality hinge and flat, pointed pin. Comes in 2 3/4" square black leatherette case with rounded corners. Interior of case is lined with plush ivory-shade velvet and is slotted to perfectly accommodate hinge/pin assembly. Upper interior of case is lined with white satin and is printed with 'LDO'. You can discern a very old impression in the velvet lining from where this badge has rested since the beginning of time.
